I am Anna Ibarra, the owner & artist of Iba Sisters Handmade Jewelry & Accessories.
Many of you have met me at various local events and others have spoken with me through the Iba Sisters Facebook or Instagram. Y'all have asked me many questions in regards to how I make my charms, how I run my business, and how I handle life as a small business owner, etc. This is how I will answer many of your questions.
Here in this blog I shall write about my business, art, and even life.
I will share with y'all some of the following: (not limited to)
the struggles of having a small business in the world of the handmade
the difficulties of having an art/handmade business in the Rio Grande Valley
how I create certain pieces / small demos
reviews of products and services I've used for my business
the lessons & experiences that have lead me to run my business as it is
my motivation as an entrepreneur
While my sister, Cristina, was my partner in creating and running the business in the beginning of Iba Sisters, most of the things that pertain to it, I learned myself. I'm a strong believer in learning by experience and being self-reliant. I will not hold anyone's hand when it comes to solving a problem or do the work for them. However, I will share some of my knowledge/resources so that they may find the answer they seek. I learned to use polymer clay by watching videos, reading books & articles, and experimenting. Nevertheless, some things such as how to price my work, conduct a sale, taxes, etc. I learned from various people like my sister, parents, professors, colleagues and even my friends.

I'm very blessed to have these people around me, I truly appreciate the guidance they have all given me with not only my business but with my life as well. I honestly wouldn't have gotten this far without them.
For that reason, I've always done my best to share my knowledge and resources with those who ask me. Now, with this blog I hope that it can reach a lot more people who look to me for insight.
Till next time,
Anna
